MARION – A Herrin man was cited on drug-related offenses following a recent traffic stop in Williamson County.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, on May 3, deputies saw a vehicle traveling in rural Williamson County near Johnston City without a valid vehicle registration. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver was unlawfully transporting cannabis which was contained on his person. A subsequent search discovered a metal tin containing 3.38 grams of a substance which later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
The driver, Carl D. Olsen of Herrin, was placed under arrest and cited with Operating a Motor Vehicle when Registration Suspended, Methamphetamine Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Olsen was transported to the Williamson County Jail.
