MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people on drug charges following a traffic stop on Illinois 13 at Russell Street in Marion Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies discovered during the traffic stop that the driver and one of the two passengers were currently on parole status. Additionally, there was the odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle discovered a thermos located behind the glove box which contained 116 grams of methamphetamine.

Deputies arrested Anthony C. Thompson for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver 100 to 400 grams and Possession of Methamphetamine 100 to 400 grams. Cory A. Houghlan was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver 100 to 400 grams, Possession of Methamphetamine 100 to 400 grams, failure to signal when required and improper lane usage. Sydney L. McClelland was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine 100 to 400 grams, Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

All three were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
