CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police say an arrest has been man in connection with their investigation into recent incidents involving weapons offenses in the city.

Police say 19-year-old Alaye T. Graham, of Carbondale, was arrested Tuesday and charged with Armed Violence, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Firearm Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID Card, and Manufacture/Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

As part of these continued investigations, detectives obtained warrants for one home in the 500 block of South Graham Street and another home in the 300 block of South Oakland Avenue.

Carbondale police officers and detectives, with assistance from members of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) Special Response Team, executed the search warrants at the two homes in Carbondale Tuesday morning. Graham was taken into custody at the home on South Graham Street without incident. No arrests were made at this time at the address on Oakland Street.

Graham was then charged with the offenses and taken to jail.
