MARION – A man was recently arrested and cited for Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Look Alike Substance with Intent to Deliver after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies saw the vehicle he was in commit a traffic violation.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Dakota D. Whitlock was taken to the Williamson County Jail. The traffic stop happened around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Deputies approached the vehicle and recognized those inside from prior police contact.

While investigating, deputies located a clear, crystalline substance in the rear passenger door handle that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

A probable cause search was conducted on a passenger, identified as Dakota D. Whitlock, resulting in the discovery of a plastic bag containing a clear, crystalline substance believed to be meth. It did not field test positive for meth.

Deputies identified it as a look alike substance due to its packaging and physical appearance.

Whitlock stated that he knew he possessed the look alike substance and that he intended to sell it as meth to make money.

It should be noted that as the result of a separate, independent, and ongoing investigation, Whitlock was arrested and cited for Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Look Alike Substance with Intent to Deliver. He was then taken to jail.
