HERRIN – A woman was recently arrested and cited for possessing methamphetamine after the vehicle she was a passenger in was pulled over by Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies for committing a traffic violation in the area of Park Avenue and Herrin Road in Herrin.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was pulled over just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. During the traffic stop, a sheriff’s K9 unit arrived on scene to assist. A free air K9 sniff of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert to the odor of illegal narcotics.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine in a wallet which belonged to the passenger identified as Candice L. Scro. The wallet contained several debit/credit cards as well as a paycheck with her name on it. Scro was arrested and cited for Possession of Methamphetamine and taken to the Williamson County Jail.

While taking Scro to jail, she told deputies that she had additional contraband on her person. Upon arriving at the jail, Scro retrieved a clear plastic bag containing a white residue from her pants and surrendered it to deputies.
