SPRINGFIELD – Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker says he’s not concerned about a U.S. Supreme Court decision that will keep former President Donald Trump on the ballot in all 50 states.

Capitol News Illinois reports Pritzker says keeping Trump on the ballot will be a net benefit for Democrats, at least in Illinois.

The nation’s high court ruled individual states do not have authority to disqualify federal candidates based on the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment.

The decision overturned a ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court, but also likely ends similar challenges – including in Illinois.

A judge in Cook County ruled last week that Trump should be barred from the March 19th GOP primary in Illinois, but put her decision on hold until an appeal could be filed.
