MCLEANSBORO – Brandon Paul Thomas Wheeler, 19, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in McLeansboro. 

Brandon was born on May 8, 2004, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Rodney Wheeler and Beatrice Holland. Brandon worked as a spudder operator in the oilfields.

Brandon loved to spend his days working on demolition derby cars, going fishing, waterfowl and deer hunting, mudding in his truck, and any other mischief he could find. He was loved by so many and will always be missed. He was a great uncle, a son, a brother, and the best friend to so many of us.

Brandon is survived by a grandmother Victoria Ann Scott, maternal grandparents Juanita & Everett Workman, his father Rodney Wheeler, his mother Beatrice Holland, two brothers John (Bryanna) Wheeler and Jacob Holland (and fiancé Felicia), a sister Leslie Wheeler, a nephew Kayson Wheeler, two uncles Gene Wheeler and Tinker (Marie) Wheeler, two aunts Deb Wheeler and Lisa (Shane) Barker, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John & Jurettia Wheeler, his maternal grandfather Gene Holland, an infant half brother Michael Holland, and an aunt Carmen Birkner.

There will be no formal services at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. 

The Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.
