MT. VERNON – Eight babies, 5 boys and 3 girls, were born at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in the path of totality on Monday. The first total solar eclipse baby was born at 8:22 a.m. with the last of the eight born at 10:59 p.m.

Mt. Vernon was in the path of the total solar eclipse that took place Monday. Totality started at 2 p.m. and lasted 3 minutes and 44.5 seconds. The babies will be 20 years old when they have a chance to experience the next totality in the U.S.
