CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are looking for two people allegedly involved in a shooting Wednesday night in the area of South Poplar Street and West Freeman Street.

Police responded to that area around 10:23 p.m. after receiving several reports of shots fired.

The suspects fled the area prior to officers arriving. Officers learned there were no injuries as a result of the incident, but there was damage to a building as a result of the shots fired.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned two black males were seen running westbound on West Freeman Street from the area during the incident. One suspect was wearing all dark clothing and the other suspect was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt. The investigation is active and ongoing.
