CARBONDALE – One of the two juvenile suspects wanted on an arrest warrant for a shooting earlier this month on South Rawlings Street in Carbondale surrendered to Carbondale Police Sunday.

According to Carbondale Police, the juvenile was lodged in a juvenile detention facility pending a court appearance. Detectives are still seeking the second juvenile involved in the incident who remains at large.

Around 6:30 p.m. on May 9, police responded to the 500 block of South Rawlings Street and began an investigation of three individuals who were injured by gunfire.

In the course of the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for two juveniles who were identified as suspected shooters.

The two victims at the scene were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. A third gunshot victim arrived at the hospital on their own. This injured party was believed to be related to the same incident. They were all treated for their injuries. Police say the incident was found to be the result of an ongoing dispute between known acquaintances.
