BENTON – Sidney Eugene Williams, 84, of Benton, went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2025, at Helia in Benton.
He was born on August 3, 1941, to Robert and Anna Williams in Benton.
He attended Freeman Chapel Church in Freeman Spur, IL. He was an avid lover of anything related to the American eagle.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and “Grandpa Great.”
He enjoyed singing and playing Christian music at church and with his friends. He truly loved the Lord.
He is survived by his loving children: Vevia Tindall and husband Greg, Keith Williams and wife Jennifer, Randy Williams and friend Robin, Robin Musgrave and husband Marvin, Angie Dunning, and Melinda Upchurch and husband Tim. He has 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two more on the way.
He is also survived by several close cousins and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Williams; his wife, Linda Williams; his former wife, Audrey Knight; and his close cousins, Jack Williams, Ronnie Williams, and Dale Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with Pastor Rick McClintock officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
