MCLEANSBORO – Judy Delores Hood, 78, of McLeansboro, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her residence in McLeansboro.

Judy was born August 1, 1947, in Poseyville, Indiana – a daughter of Harley E. Hanes and Roberta (Fricker) Hanes.

Judy was a Baptist by faith and a retired hairdresser. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her son, John Biggerstaff and wife Erin, Carmel, IL; her grandchildren, Brian, Brett and Kyle Biggerstaff.  Also surviving are sisters: Vera Oxford, Clarendon Hills, IL, Sue Weigle Woodridge, IL, and Phyllis Bradley, Naperville, IL; along with her brothers: John Robertson, LaGrange, IL., and Steve Hanes, Dieterich, IL.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Greg Hanes and Kenny Hanes, sisters, Brenda Thompson and Bonnie Peska; and companion, Sam Rubenacker.

Visitation for Judy Hood will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro, with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating.
