WEST FRANKFORT – Dorothea (Halley) Perry, 81, of West Frankfort, Illinois, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Belle Prairie, Illinois, to Edward O. Halley and Wilma (Severs) Halley.

Dorothea was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in West Frankfort. She enjoyed caring for those less fortunate than herself.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen Perry of West Frankfort and Ronald Perry and his wife, Lauren, of Smyrna, Georgia; daughters, Kristina Vick of Benton, Illinois, and Paula Murray and her husband, David, of West Frankfort; a brother, George Edward Halley of Grant Park, Illinois; a sister, Wilma Sue Anderson of Cortland, Illinois; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janice Mayberry; and a brother, Donald Halley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made by helping someone less fortunate in a meaningful way.

Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, Illinois, with a Rosary followed immediately by Mass, with the Rev. Slawomir Ptak officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Piopolis.
