CHRISTOPHER – Leora Jean Furlow, 83, of Christopher, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Herrin Hospital.

She was born on October 26, 1942, in Rend City, IL, to Lawrence and Zella (Wayman) Gilbreath.  She married Lindell Furlow on September 3, 1960, and he survives of Christopher. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley (Rob) Barrett and Corey Cavinder; and one great- granddaughter, Lillian Barrett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Susan Leigh Pinkham and Daina Jean Dawson; and eight brothers and sisters: Kenneth, Dwight, William, Lucille, Maxine, Betty, Lola and Shirley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Larry Cook officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
