MT. VERNON – Applications for this summer’s SSM VolunTeen program are now available through April 24.
This entry-level volunteer program, running June 2 through July 10, is designed for high school students ages 15+ who are interested in exploring careers in health care and learning more about the many paths available within the field.
Students are matched, based on their interests, to a variety of clinical and non-clinical roles across SSM Health locations in Southern Illinois. Participants assist team members in supporting patient care, volunteering two to three days per week in four hour shifts throughout their summer break.
VolunTeen participants also have the opportunity to earn college credit through Rend Lake College and may apply for one of two $500 scholarships provided by SSM Health.
