BENTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rend Lake Project Office, in partnership with University of Illinois Extension, will host Pollinator Garden Stewardship Workdays on the fourth Wednesday of each month from February through October at the Rend Lake Project Office/Visitor Center.

These workdays are free and open to volunteers of all interests and experience levels. Participants will receive training on native pollinator garden care and assist with garden maintenance. Each session runs from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and includes hands-on stewardship activities and a 30-minute educational program.

Registration is required and is limited to 15 participants per session. Online registration is available at go.illinois.edu/RendLakePollinate. Registration closes the Sunday prior to each event. Participants may also register by calling the Rend Lake Project Office at 618-724-2493.

All gardening tools will be provided; however, volunteers should bring all personal items such as gardening pads, gloves, and water. They are also encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor conditions.

Individuals needing a reasonable accommodation should contact Kim Rohling, from University of Illinois, at kimrohli@illinois.edu. Early accommodation requests are encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet accommodation needs.
