Showplace Entertainment to Purchase Shuttered AMC Theater in Marion

MARION – The shuttered AMC theater, located behind Oasis Powersports in Marion, could have a new owner next week.

Evansville, Indiana based Showplace Entertainment is expected to announce that it is purchasing the theater that closed in August. Showplace owns the theater in Harrisburg along with seven in Indiana and one in Kentucky.

The theater opened in December 1993 and was acquired in 2010 by Chicago-based Kerasotes Showplace Theaters.

We have reached out to Showplace Entertainment for comment and hope to have more details when they become available.
