BROUGHTON – James “Jim” McPeak, 72, of Broughton passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at University Hospital in St. Louis.

Jim was born June 9, 1953, in Eldorado – a son of Wilbert Lee McPeak and Mildred (Hale) McPeak. On December 7, 1974, he married Brenda Vivian Webb at St. Clement Catholic Church in McLeansboro, and she survives.

Jim was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enfield. He caught and sold fish and enjoyed talking to people anytime anywhere!  He loved antiquing and good auctions.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda; daughters: Erica McPeak of Dale and Adrea McPeak-Smith and husband Dwayne of Aden; his grandchildren: Deegan “aka Ichabod” Gholson of Dale, Wendell “aka Hurrican” James, and Ransom “aka Hoopie” Smith. Also surviving is a brother, Sam McPeak and wife Christy of Dale.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Troy McPeak.

Memorials may be given to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation and/or a charity of your choice.

Visitation for Jim McPeak will be Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 3-6 p.m., at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro to conclude with a prayer service at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, December 8, 2025, at noon, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enfield, with Father Gregory Ogbenika and Father Thomas Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clement Catholic Cemetery in McLeansboro.
