Beverly Jean Moffatt, 79, of Hurst died Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Joliet, Illinois, and was previously of Lockport, Illinois. Beverly devoted her life to her family and was known for being steady, thoughtful and caring. Her home was a gathering place where meals were shared and time together was valued.

She took great pride in her role as a grandmother and remained closely connected to her grandchildren throughout her life, following their milestones and offering guidance and support.

Survivors include her children: Julie Elison and Bradley Elison, Gregory Moffatt, Daniel Moffatt and daughter-in-law Kathy Moffatt; grandchildren: Ryan Moffatt, Karen Moffatt, Melissa Foster (Colton), Justin Moffatt (Charity), John Elison, Natalie Gibson (Bobby), Jordan Moffatt (Anna Sidler) and Quinton Moffatt; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Hattie Mae (Hodgdon) Swanson; a brother, Ralph Swanson, and his wife, Pauline; a son, Timothy Moffatt; and a close friend, Carol.

She will be deeply missed.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Graveside burial will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Joliet.

The Leffler Funeral Home of Benton is in charge of cremation arrangements.
