CHRISTOPHER — Randall D. Majdich, 78, of Christopher, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at a Christian care center in Indiana.

He was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Herrin, Illinois, to August “Goose” and Gertrude Majdich. He married Sue Hammonds on Aug. 19, 1978; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Majdich was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a captain during the Vietnam War. He was a leader in the coal mining industry, a Freemason and a talented musician who enjoyed the outdoors and playing poker with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony Majdich and Andrew (Julie) Cook; a stepson, Wesley (Ewar) Cook; two daughters, Tiffany Mahon and Juliane Hamilton; and three grandchildren, Halle Majdich, Emma Cook and Nicholas Cook.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, De Etta Lou Sanchez and Roberta Brown, and a brother, Dennis Majdich.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mulkeytown Cemetery.
