Carbondale Police say two suspects are under arrest after a deceptive practice investigation tied to stolen bank funds. Officers were called to the 1100 block of East Main Street April 17th, where victims reported being contacted by scammers posing as financial institution employees. Police say 32 year old Dallace Beasley of Carbondale and 26 year old Matthew L. Beasley of Chicago were taken into custody after investigators found they accessed victims’ accounts and stole money. Both were released pending court appearances, while additional suspects are still being sought. Authorities warn residents to be cautious with unsolicited calls, saying scammers can spoof phone numbers and should never be given personal financial information.
