CENTRALIA (WMIX) — Two Centralia men were arrested Wednesday morning after they allegedly beat a 16-year-old boy over a PlayStation.
According to Centralia Police, 26-year-old Raymond Warren – who is listed as the boy’s step-father, and 37-year-old Samuel Weibley – who is listed as the boy’s uncle – were playing on the gaming system when the teen wanted to play.
Reports say the two then beat the boy, leaving hand prints and scratches on his neck and upper chest that officers said were “very obvious signs of being strangled.” The boy was taken into protective custody and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The boy’s mother told officers the two men were trying to restrain the teen who was being disorderly. But officers disagreed with that description given the types of injuries her son suffered and took Warren and Weibley to the Marion County Jail.
Both men were charged Thursday with Class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery involving strangling, and misdemeanors for domestic battery and causing a child to be endangered.
They were released with special conditions and are scheduled to appear in court March 7 for preliminary hearings on the charges.
