LAKE OF EGYPT – Exit 45 on northbound I-57 in Williamson County was shut down for a few hours Saturday due to a semi overturning on the ramp.

According to Illinois State Police, a 2001 Freightliner Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer was traveling northbound on I-57 at 11 a.m. and exited the interstate at milepost 45. The load in the trailer shifted which caused the semi-trailer to overturn. It came to rest on the left ditch.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with injuries.

The ramp was closed for four hours for the crash investigation and clean up.

ISP says no further information is available.
