BENTON – A man has been charged with Residential Burglary and Theft after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a rural county resident Monday morning saying he had just returned home and found someone in his house.

According to the sheriff’s office, the caller stated that he confronted the male subject and the subject fled from the home on foot. Deputies quickly responded and began searching the area near the home.

Within minutes, deputies located a subject matching the description provided by the homeowner. He was identified as 20-year-old Kyle W. Georgi. Georgi was transported back to the home and was identified by the homeowner as the subject that was in his home.

Georgi was charged with the aforementioned offenses and taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Under the Safe-T-Act, Residential Burglary is a detainable offense and Georgi will remain in the Franklin County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
