METROPOLIS – A Metropolis man was recently charged with Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Battery, Resisting/Obstruction Arrest and Reckless Conduct following a disturbance at a home on Security Drive in Metropolis.

According to Metropolis Police, officers responded to the scene on Oct. 26 and saw the man being irrational and stating irrational things. He then started grabbing/groping a female. When officers told him to stop, he punched an officer in the face. A taser was deployed and 31-year-old Travis C. Blanton was taken into custody. Blanton advised that God makes him take Meth. He was taken by ambulance to hospital, where on the way, he headbutted a paramedic. He also kicked a paramedic at the hospital.

Blanton was charged on the aforementioned charges. Once discharged from the hospital, he was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
