MURPHYSBORO (WMIX) – A 41-year-old Murphysboro woman was sentenced Friday in Jackson County Court to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after she had earlier pleaded guilty to making threats with a gun outside the Jackson County Courthouse.

Marjorie J. Parrish was arrested last April for threatening public officials with a gun outside the courthouse in Murphysboro.

Parrish was facing charges of Class X felony making a terroristic threat, Class 3 felonies for carrying or possessing a firearm in a prohibited location and threatening a public official, and Class 4 felonies for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated assault of a state employee.

She pleaded guilty in April to one each of the Class 3 and 4 charges in exchange for the other charges being dismissed. She was sentenced to three years on each count to be served concurrently.
