MACEDONIA – Hobert Campbell Jr., age 85 and a resident of Macedonia, IL, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Silver Foxes Senior Living & Rehab Center in McLeansboro, IL.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to noon with the funeral service being held at noon, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL. Pastor Jacob Gray is officiating and burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Macedonia, IL.

Military Rites by American Legion Post 106 and Military Honor Team of Marion, IL will be accorded. Masonic Rites will also be accorded by the Macedonia Masonic Lodge #1128 and the Macedonia Eastern Star Chapter 1028.

Hobert was born March 29, 1938 in Franklin County, IL to Hobert Johnson Campbell Sr. and Mary Victoria (Nagreski) Campbell. He married Helen Berniece Bowman on August 6, 1961, in Benton, IL and she preceded him in death February 4, 2019.

He was a self employed farmer and mechanic. Hobert was a member of the Macedonia Eastern Star Chapter #1028, American Legion Post 106, Past Master of the Macedonia Masonic Lodge #1128 and was Treasurer of the Village of Macedonia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his sister Mary Ann Porter and husband Tom of Equality, IL; nieces and nephews and “adopted granddaughter” Peyton Julian, Thompsonville, IL.

Preceding Hobert in death were his parents, his wife Helen, son Bryan Edward Campbell, and his brother Edward Keith Campbell.
