CAMBRIA (WMIX) – A 54-year-old man is in the Williamson County Jail in connection with a weekend incident where a woman was allegedly held captive overnight and resulted in a police pursuit and crash.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Larry D. Parsons was arrested on several charges including interference with the reporting of domestic battery, aggravated unlawful restraint, domestic battery, violating an order of protection, aggravated battery, residential burglary, criminal trespass, and aggravated fleeing.

Deputies responded shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday to a report of a domestic battery in rural Cambria.

According to reports, a woman who had an order of protection against him arrived home at around 4 p.m. Saturday to discover Parsons hiding in her bedroom.

Parsons was reportedly armed with a knife, threatened to kill the victim, struck her in the head with a metal object and held her captive until she was able to escape early Sunday morning and contacted the sheriff’s department. Parsons reportedly told the woman they were both going to die that night.

Deputies then traveled to the victim’s home in search of Parsons, and upon their arrival, they reportedly spotted Parsons loading the victim’s belongings into his vehicle.

Deputies attempted to apprehend him but he fled from the scene, leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit that ended when Parsons’s vehicle struck multiple utility poles, rolled over, and came to rest in a ditch.

Parsons was extricated from the badly damaged vehicle. He was arrested and taken to an area hospital for medical treatment before being taken to the Williamson County Jail.
